Skoda Announces New EV Called Epiq

It will be unveiled in 2025.

What you see here is the pretend version of an all-new Skoda EV. The brand calls it the Epiq, arriving at that name via the same mantra it used for its first EV – the Enyaq. Epiq does sound cool! And although still in its pre-production guise, it looks cool too.

Obviously, not much is confirmed at the moment. However, Skoda has left a few juicy details that will keep interest buzzing. The Epiq will be Skoda’s entry-level BEV, a battery-electric vehicle. The five-seat SUV crossover will measure around 4.1 metres lengthwise and boast a boot capacity of up to 490 litres. Skoda has also stated that the Epiq’s maximum electric range will be over 400km, while the starting price will be around EUR 25,000.

Apart from those snippets of information, the main takeaway from this design study, or concept car, is the brand’s new design language. Blended with descriptions such as “digital experience”, “new technologies”, “assistance features”, and “sustainable materials”, one could try to join the dots to paint the picture.

The Skoda Epic will be manufactured in Pamplona, Spain, as a joint project of Volkswagen Group’s core brands – Skoda, Cupra and Volkswagen. The EV’s production avatar will break cover in 2025. Before that happens, another Skoda EV will be unveiled – the Elroq. Described as a compact SUV, it is slated to debut later this year.
