Singer’s Porsche 911 Turbo Study 964 Cabriolet is simply stunning

Meet the first ever 911 carbriolet restored by Singer

A few weeks ago we told you that Singer will stop its retro ‘classic’ 911s because it had a new plan in place named ‘Turbo Study’. Singer has taken the wraps off its second Turbo Study project and it’s the first time the company has worked its magic on a cabriolet 911. Of course, it looks stunning!

It will surely weaken a car lover’s knees and it should  do just that with its glorious Whale Tail, carbon fibre bodywork clad in Cadiz Red and, of course, the lovely fantastically fendered black wheels.

At the back, the lovely spoiler hides an uprated air-cooled, 3.8 litre flat six engine with a pair of turbochargers thumping out 510 horsepower and sending power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

Other mechanical stars of the shows include carbon ceramic brakes and a suspension that Singer will tinker from “long-range, high-speed touring” to an “overtly sporting focus” according to customer demands.

Inside, the special Singer has a black interior with a red plaid pattern on the door panels and seat inserts. The fabric is accompanied by wood trim on the dash and centre console. And, if you don’t want air in your hair, then a black fabric roof will come over the interior.

Singer’s Founder and Executive Chairman Rob Dickenson said: “The first Porsche, the Sport 356/1 known as ‘Number 1,’ was a cabriolet, and high-performance, open-roof glamor has been part of the story ever since.”

“I’ve long wanted to celebrate that part of Porsche heritage at Singer and doing so as part of our recently announced Turbo Study seems a perfect place to start. Our goal with the Turbo Study is to distil the awesome thrill of Porsche’s first supercar while reimagining its performance and refinement. We’re excited that owners can now choose to enjoy these traits with the roof down,” he concluded.

Singer has announced that its order books are full for the next several years and it won’t accept any new orders. So if you have a fair few millions in your bank account and want this restored 911 cabrio, then you’ll have to wait for a while.
