Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner Blackline is opulence minus the chrome

Because luxury is not all about chrome but about Black as well

Luxury car makers like Rolls Royce and Bentley are rolling out special Black editions of their cars to make them look even more luxurious. Case in point, the Flying Spur Mulliner Blackline.

The Blackline specification is quite in demand as we’re told that almost every one in five Continental GT Mulliner orders now specified with Blackline so it was just a matter of time by when it comes to the British carmaker’s flagship sedan. When we said ‘minus the chrome’ in the headline, we meant that chrome has been decreased to the least by Bentley. Meaning you will find some chrome here or there but not as much as found in other Bentleys.

Bentley’s flagship sedan has got the special Mulliner treatment and Blackline specification which adds: mirror caps, window trim, lower door trim and headlight trim finished in black with the iconic hood ornament, lower grille and vents in the front fascia also bearing the same colour.

The Flying Spur Mulliner Blackline specification is available with the V6 hybrid, V8, and W12 models of the sedan with the 22-inch wheels with polished black inserts common to both.

Step inside and you will find an interior loaded with loads of luxuries like “Diamond-in-Diamond” quilting and contrasting stitching in the seats, three-dimensional leather in the doors, Bentley’s signature electrically-operated picnic tables and an LED driver’s instrument panel which features exclusive Mulliner graphics.

What are your thoughts on these Blackline spec Bentleys? Do you like more of chrome or more of black in a luxury car? Let us know in the comments below.
