Mahindra Expands XUV400 Portfolio With Pro Range

The trio of ‘Pro’ derivatives pack a 148hp electric motor.

Mahindra has introduced three ‘Pro’ variants of its sole battery electric vehicle – the XUV400. They are – EC Pro and two derivatives of EL Pro. The automaker will open bookings for the newly devised variants starting January 12, with the minimum token amount set at INR 21,000. As far as deliveries are concerned, they will commence on February 1, 2024. Mahindra has also revealed the introductory price list:

• EC Pro (34.5kWh, 3.3kW AC Charger): INR 15.49 lakh

• EL Pro (34.5kWh, 7.2kW AC Charger): INR 16.74 lakh

• EL Pro (39.4kWh, 7.2kW AC Charger): INR 17.49 lakh

Regardless of the variant, the Mahindra XUV400 Pro has an electric motor that outputs 148hp/310Nm. According to its maker, the 4.2-metre-long compact SUV can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 8.3 seconds, making it the quickest in the segment. The top speed is 150kmph. With the 34.5kWh battery onboard, the Mahindra XUV400 Pro can travel up to 375km. That number jumps to 456km with the larger 39.4kWh battery in the equation.

In EC Pro spec, the Mahindra XUV400 comes with features like push-button start/stop, all four disc brakes, multiple drive modes, a tyre pressure monitoring system, dual-zone automatic climate control, electronic stability control, LED taillamps and ISOFIX anchorages for child booster seats. The EL Pro derivatives rope in a lot more stuff, including a wireless mobile charger, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 16-inch alloy wheels, an electric sunroof, auto headlamps and wipers, a rear-view camera, six airbags and an auto-dimming IRVM.

The Mahindra XUV400 Pro also packs more than 50 connected car features. The list includes alerts for overspeeding, geo-fencing and time fencing, location sharing, OTA updates and support for various applications like India Today and Just Dial.

The introductory prices mentioned above are valid for deliveries till May 31, 2024. In India, the Mahindra XUV400 EV is a direct rival to the Tata Nexon EV.
