Cadillac is bringing the V performance to the Lyriq for 2026
The Lyriq-V is the first EV with a V badge and likely the quickest on the shared platform
The joint venture between GM and Honda has produced four vehicles off the same platform: Blazer EV, ZDX, Prologue, and the Lyriq. Cadillac seeks to distance itself from the other three by adding a performance-oriented Lyriq-V to the stable. The details are slim, but if it is like any other V-badged Cadillac of late, it will likely be a juggernaut of electric performance.
Twenty years ago, Cadillac introduced the first V with the CTS-V. While the ordinary CTS came with a paltry 255-horsepower V6, the CTS-V had a 5.7L V8 with 400 horsepower. Over the years, we saw the V’ing of numerous Cadillacs, with the most popular being the CTS-V, CT5-V Blackwing, and Escalade-V.
Each one of these cars in V form nearly doubled the power output of the base powertrain. If this general theme is to be followed, the Lyriq has anywhere between 340 horsepower and 500 for single and dual-motor versions, respectively. That means a Lyriq-V could have upwards of 1000 horsepower and some of the quickest drag and lap times of any electric SUV.
We will have to wait a little bit longer to find out as the details haven’t been released. What do you want to see in the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V?!
Cheers!
