Oris, the Hölstein, Switzerland, based watchmaker has introduced the Doha Watch Club Limited Edition. It is the first collaboration between Oris and Doha Watch Club. It was made possible by the support of Al-Muftah Jewellery, Oris’s authorised dealer in Qatar. Oris is renowned for making simple, robust, and affordable timepieces, addressing a broader segment of watch collectors. The watch is “a fusion of Swiss precision and Qatari heritage.”

Our Thoughts
Special edition watches for watch groups and clubs have become a popular concept worldwide. I am part of few groups which have collaborated with watch brands such as Nomos, Sartory Billard, Czapek, and Norqain for special edition or group watches. They achieve few things. For group or club members, they foster a greater sense of community, and the special feeling of owning a bespoke “off-catalogue” limited-edition watch. For brands, it highlights their creative skills and strengthens their entry into a new market. For authorised dealers, it is additional business. Last, but not least, for group or club members, it helps them add to their purchase history with an authorised dealer, making it “easier” to get allocations for certain watches in the future.
Oris is a volume brand, and there is no advantage or logical reason for them to make a 50-piece special edition club watch. This is precisely why the Oris Doha Watch Club Edition is so extremely special. It is possibly one of the rarest Oris watches in the world, and a genuine collectable and heirloom piece for 50 members of the Doha Watch Club.
