Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons has unveiled the Laureato 38mm Burgundy UAE Edition, “an exclusive collaboration” with Girard-Perregaux. It showcases “the art of henna,” an ancient craft “that has transcended generations.” Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and Girard-Perregaux collaborated with Dr. Azra Khamissa, an Emirati artist, “on a customised Henna design inspired by the iconic octagonal shape of the Laureato.”
“Charecterised by its deep and rich colour, the Henna design offers a bold interpretation of a classic geometrical shape, bringing it to life and highlighting the beauty of the art form in both the pattern and the know-how behind the timepiece.”
The Laureato 38mm Burgundy UAE Edition is a limited edition of 50 pieces.

Dial
Burgundy dial with a Clous de Paris pattern.
“This sculptural pattern, composed of multiple pyramidal structures, imbues the dial with a three-dimensional appearance. The burgundy-coloured dial subtly plays with the light, becoming deeper or lighter depending on the angle.”
Baton-shaped hour and minute hands are rhodium plated and coated with luminescent material (white emission). Seconds hand is rhodium plated.
10 Hindi numeral shaped hour-markers and GP logo at 12 o’clock are rhodium plated and applied on the dial.
The silver date numerals in Hindi and burgundy date wheel, match the rest of the dial, an aesthetically pleasing touch.
Minutes track, graduated in increments of 5 minutes each, encircles the outer dial.
Case and Bracelet
Made from stainless steel. Its octagonal bezel is set with 56 diamonds (approximately 0.90 carats).
Case diameter: 38 mm. Thickness: 10.02 mm.
Dial side features an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
Caseback features a sapphire crystal. “UAE Edition” is engraved, along with other typical text.
Water resistant up to 100 metres or 10 ATM.
Bracelet made from stainless steel, polished and satin finished.
Movement
Powered by an in-house automatic movement, Reference: GPO3300-2381. It drives the hours, minutes, seconds, and date.
Diameter: 25.95 mm (11 ½ lignes). Height: 3.36 mm.
Parts: 218. Jewels: 27.
Frequency: 28,800 vph or 4 Hz.
Power reserve: Minimum 46 hours.
Main plate is decorated with circular graining. Some parts feature bevelling, mirror-polishing, satin finish, snailing, sunray finish, and different types of engravings. The movement bridges feature straight Côtes de Genève decoration. The 18K pink gold winding-rotor features circular Côtes de Genève decoration.

Our Thoughts
The Laureato 38mm Burgundy UAE Edition is a gorgeous interpretation of Girard-Perregaux’s Laureato, among the most handsome and versatile integrated-bracelet watch collections in the market.
This model will appeal equally to both male and female customers of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons. Its appeal will go beyond the UAE’s borders. I will not be surprised if Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and Girard-Perregaux unveil a version without diamonds soon.
The Laureato 38mm Burgundy UAE Edition further highlights how much Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons has achieved. They recently became a retailer for British watch brand Bremont, unveiled the Ulysse Nardin Freak [X Enamel Seddiqi], introduced the new ‘Mavericks of Time’ exhibition (Abu Dhabi and Dubai), for which De Bethune created a one-of-a-kind watch.
