Creed Iris Debonair is the latest fragrance from The House of Creed, which traces its roots to 1760. It brings the fougère and floral families together, something Creed says it has never done before.
Two ingredients lead the composition. English lavender from Kent adds a crisp, cool freshness, while French iris pallida from Les Landes lends a soft, powdery depth. Meanwhile, the scent’s story pays tribute to Charles Creed, a fashion designer from the Creed family.

What does Iris Debonair smell like?
Iris Debonair is a fougère floral eau de parfum. Fougère is French for fern, and the family classically rests on lavender, oakmoss and coumarin for an aromatic freshness. Creed, however, adds a floral side to that formula, and the notes break down like this:
- Top notes: bergamot and absinthe co-infusion, pink pepper, cardamom
- Heart notes: English lavender, violet leaf, fig pulp accord
- Base notes: French iris pallida, ambrette, amberwood
The opening pairs Calabrian bergamot with absinthe leaves, an infusion exclusive to Creed. The house describes its lavender as crisp and cool. In contrast, the iris brings soft, powdery tones that the brand links to pale blue. To wear it, Creed suggests two to four sprays on pulse points like the wrists and neck.

Where do the lavender and iris come from?
Creed sources its lavender from the Darent Valley in Kent, south-east England, where the plants grow in chalky soil. The area averages just 150 days of sunshine a year, half that of Provence. As a result, the lavender grows slowly and develops a cooler, smoother aroma. Its grower spent 20 years adapting it to thrive there.
The iris pallida, meanwhile, comes from Les Landes in south-west France, where it grows in sandy soil. Its roots stay underground for more than three years before the first harvest. After that, a refining process that took 12 years to master turns them into a highly concentrated iris butter. That strength makes iris pallida one of perfumery’s most prized raw materials.
Both ingredients now join the palette behind Creed’s Art of Millésime. That tradition sees artisans hand-weigh rare natural ingredients and age them at ateliers near the Château de Fontainebleau.
Who inspired Iris Debonair?
The fragrance draws inspiration from Charles Creed, a member of the family’s fifth generation. Creed casts him as a fashion designer with refined taste who liked to challenge convention. He also foresaw the rise of casual chic decades early.
Iris Debonair turns that outlook into scent. Creed frames it as the fragrant partner to British tailoring, bringing the same high standards to French perfumery.
The name follows the same thread. It comes from de bon air, an old French expression for someone with a good nature and a fine family line. In Creed’s eyes, that describes a charming, quietly confident person who needs nobody’s approval. Fittingly, the house pronounces the name with a French accent, a nod to its Franco-British heritage.

What does the bottle look like?
Iris Debonair uses Creed’s signature bottle, whose outline recalls a classic gentleman’s hip flask. This time, the glass comes in light grey with a touch of iris colour. The palette honours Charles Creed, since grey and blue fabrics were his favourite shades.
A limited-edition travel atomiser also joins the launch. It holds 5ml, comes in grey quartz leather and refills directly from Creed’s 50ml, 75ml or 100ml bottles. You can fill it with Iris Debonair now and switch to another Creed scent later.
How much does Creed Iris Debonair cost in the UAE?
Creed Iris Debonair is on sale now through Creed’s official websites and boutiques. In the UAE, meanwhile, authorised retailers list the 50ml bottle at AED 1,159, while the 100ml bottle costs AED 1,620. Both prices include VAT.
