Hublot dresses the iconic Big Bang Original in an epic new material

What is the new Hublot Big Bang Original Soft Touch?

It is Hublot’s iconic Big Bang Original made from an “exclusive textured rubber compound” an innovative new material that encompasses the case, bezel, dial, and strap. It is presented in two references: All Red and All Black. Both are powered by the brand’s UNICO manufacture chronograph movement. It is a Geneva Watch Days launch, recently held during 2nd – 6th September 2026.

“For the first time, Hublot creates a watch designed not only to be seen, but to be felt. Available in All Black and All Red, the two new models reinterpret two of Hublot’s most iconic colour signatures through an entirely new tactile language. The exclusive rubber compound is developed through a dedicated over moulding process, using specially engineered tooling that integrates the texture directly into the material during production. Unlike coating or surface treatment, the texture becomes an intrinsic part of the construction itself. Its unique microscopic surface structure is composed of thousands of fine micro-elements, creating an exceptional softness to the touch while preserving the durability and resistance expected from Hublot’s signature rubber.”

What is their dial, case, and strap features?

Image: Notice the carbon pattern of the dial. The hands and the circular frame of both the subdials are rhodium-plated and satin-finished. Notice Hublot’s logo-shaped counterweight on the chronograph seconds hand. The H-shaped polished titanium screws on the bezel are a signature design element of the brand. The red structured rubber strap promises to be super-comfortable on the wrist.

All Red: Red rubber dial featuring a velvet effect. Case and caseback are made from “titanium over moulded in red rubber” featuring a velvet effect. The watch comes with a black rubber and a red structured rubber strap featuring a velvet effect, fitted with a titanium deployant buckle. It features the brand’s “One-Click” System enabling the wearer to change straps easily.

Case measures 43 mm (diameter) * 13.2 mm (thickness). Water resistant up to 10 ATM or approximately 100 metres.

Are they powered by a column wheel chronograph movement?

Image: The HUB1280 UNICO movement “integrates a column wheel, a dual-clutch architecture, a layered construction, an optimized gear train and a skeletonized tungsten rotor open-worked in the shape of an H.”

Yes. Both references are powered by the HUB1280 UNICO, the brand’s in-house chronograph movement that is designed around “five patented innovations.” It drives the central hours and minutes, small seconds at 9 o’clock, chronograph function: central flyback seconds and 60-minute counter at 3 o’clock, and date between 4 and 5 o’clock. It measures 30 mm (diameter) * 6.75 mm (thickness), comprises 354 parts and 43 jewels, beats at a modern frequency of 4 Hz or 28,800 vph and delivers a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.

What do we think?

Image: I like the All Red a lot. Bold and bright, just as Hublot intended it. The All Red is a tribute to Hublot’s Red Ceramic that was introduced in 2018. It was the “world’s first vividly coloured high-tech ceramic.”
