Acqua di Parma has opened two new chapters in Signatures of the Sun, and they pull in opposite directions. Oud Ambrosia sets Sicilian fruit against Laotian agarwood. On the other hand, Cedro Virtuoso goes quieter, warming cedarwood with hazelnut. Two perfumers. Two moods. One collection.
What is Acqua di Parma Oud Ambrosia?
Oud Ambrosia joins the Ambrosia line, the most concentrated corner of the collection. The name comes from ambrosía, the elixir the gods drank in Greek mythology, and the link to immortality is deliberate. These fragrances carry a 30 per cent pure perfume oil concentration, so every nuance reads richer and lingers longer on skin. Gelsomino a Freddo Ambrosia and Zafferano Ambrosia came first, and Oud Ambrosia now makes three.
Perfumer Violaine Colas built the fragrance around Sicily, and around Palermo in particular, a city shaped by centuries of exchange between Europe and the Arab world. She drew on the city’s markets and its sunlit citrus gardens, and the result holds Italian light and Arabic shadow in the same bottle.
The Maison houses the 50ml Ambrosia fragrances in transparent glass bottles with decorated porcelain caps, then presents them in its signature yellow hatbox.
What does Oud Ambrosia smell like?
Officially, the fragrance falls into the woody-fruity family. Italian blood orange, a papaya accord and clementine open it, all juicy and sun-warmed. Passion fruit, patchouli gayo and a saffron accord follow through the heart. Oud Butter then anchors the base, with a violet leaf accord and musk alongside it.
The move from bright to deep is the whole point. Fruit does the talking early, but the woods take over, and they hold.

What makes Oud Butter so rare?
Most oud comes from resin alone. Oud Butter comes from Laos, and it draws on both the resin and the wood of the Aquilaria tree, which changes the material completely. Fermentation, steam distillation and hydrodistillation together yield something creamier and more refined than raw agarwood usually gives.
The character stays complex, though. Spice and smoke arrive first, then woody depth and leather take over, with hints of honey, amber and tobacco rounding them out. It reads dense but never heavy, and it hands Oud Ambrosia most of its richness, volume and staying power.
What is Acqua di Parma Cedro Virtuoso?
Cedro Virtuoso takes the opposite route. The brand built it around the act of making something: the moment an idea first takes shape, and the confidence that carries it through to a finished object. The brand frames the scent as an enveloping warmth rather than a statement.
Its singularity is a co-infusion of Virginia cedarwood and hazelnut essence, which the Maison uses exclusively. The two materials macerate together for 30 days. Over that time, hazelnut turns creamy and round while cedarwood keeps its dry structure, and the infusion gives the finished scent its texture.
What does Cedro Virtuoso smell like?
The official family is woody gourmand, though the sweetness stays firmly in the background. The cedarwood and hazelnut co-infusion sits right at the top alongside Calabrian bergamot and musk, so the opening reads bright but already warm.
Cedarwood then runs through the whole structure in three forms. The Virginia fraction brings smooth, glowing warmth. Atlas cedar adds spiced balsamic depth through the heart, and Alaska cedar brings refined leathery and aromatic nuance. Tonka bean absolute, sandalwood and Ambrox close it out.

Who created the two new fragrances?
Two very different perfumers. Violaine Colas trained in chemistry before moving into perfumery, first under Bertrand Duchaufour at Florasynth, then at ISIPCA, and later as an apprentice to Dominique Ropion. She favours clarity and short formulas, and she tends to anchor her work in travel, nature and memory.
Fabrice Pellegrin grew up in Grasse in a family of perfumers. He has created fragrances for houses from Hermès to Diptyque, joined Firmenich in 2008, and won Perfumer of the Year in 2017. For Cedro Virtuoso, he wanted cedarwood to feel modern rather than expected, so he leaned on hazelnut’s woody side to bridge the two materials.
What else comes with Cedro Virtuoso?
Oud Ambrosia arrives as a single 50ml bottle. Cedro Virtuoso, by contrast, spans a full range. The eau de parfum comes in 12ml, 50ml, 100ml and 180ml, and the ritual extends to a 150ml body cream, a 350ml hand and body wash, a 200g candle and a 180ml diffuser.
The campaign follows the same thread. The Maison set it inside a luminous design atelier, where craft and imagination meet, and Italian artisans made six sculptural cedar totems for it. Those totems will later appear in the brand’s Milan boutique.
How much do the new Acqua di Parma fragrances cost?
The Acqua di Parma online boutique lists Oud Ambrosia at USD 390 for 50ml and Cedro Virtuoso at USD 267 for 50ml. The Maison does not publish AED pricing on its own site so that UAE prices will come from local stockists.
