GMC brings the 2022 Sierra pickup truck to the Middle East

Luxury-spec Denali Ultimate is also available

Pickup trucks are an American creation that is gradually getting adopted by other nations. The latest market to do so is the Middle East, welcoming GMC’s new 2022 Sierra line-up, including the luxury-oriented first-ever Sierra Denali Ultimate and the off-road spec AT4X trims.

The new Sierra pickup truck boasts an elevated exterior design with all-new interiors. The front fascia and grille design are revised, while dual-projector LED headlamps and animated C-shaped DRLs are new additions. An all-new and customizable 13.4-inch touchscreen crowns the redesigned dashboard with a digital setup for the instrument cluster. The pickup truck is equipped with the industry-first six-function MultiPro tailgate and a CarbonPro carbon fibre composite bed.

For buyers who desire something luxurious, the first-ever Sierra Denali Ultimate should fit the bill. It gets a unique grille in exclusive Vader chrome, along with exclusive 22-inch wheels. The cabin sees the instrument panel, door panels, console lid and seats wrapped in full-grain leather and accompanied by open-pore Paldao wood trim. This wood trim sees further laser-etched topography maps of the highest mountain peak in North America, Mount Denali. The front seats carry massage functionalities and 16-way power adjustments. Powering the Sierra Denali Ultimate will be GMC’s 420hp 6.2-litre V8 engine, matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The same powertrain combination can be found on the Sierra AT4X trim with advanced off-road capabilities. The standard AT4 suspension is upgraded with unique Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers and springs that increase maximum front and rear suspension travel. A two-speed transfer case with various drive modes, including a one-pedal rock crawling Terrain Mode, is also available as standard. The AT4X gets equipped with front and rear e- locking differentials for maximum performance and 18-inch wheels covered in Wrangler mud-terrain tires. Though all that off-road prowess doesn’t come at the cost of creature comforts, the AT4X trim gets leather upholstery, powered-front seats, a powered sunroof and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

Sharon Nishi, Chief Marketing Officer, GM Africa and the Middle East, said: “For 2022, we are building on the GMC Sierra line-up with the launch of two all-new trims that take premium capability to new heights. Sierra remains as one of best performing truck models in the middle East, with discerning customers looking for the blend of technology, on-road comfort, and off-road capability. The 2022 line-up sets the new benchmark in what trucks are capable of, and we can’t wait for our customers in this region to get behind the wheel.”
