Zenvo Automotive’s Mjölnir V12 will be the most powerful ever for a road car

A whopping 1850bhp from a 6.6L V12, four turbos, and a hybrid system, that’s Thor’s hammer!

Unless you’ve been sleeping under a rock for the past fifteen years, you’ve seen at least one Marvel movie where Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is on the screen. His character carries a hammer that seems unblockable, intelligent, and unwieldy by anyone other than the thunder god Thor himself. Zenvo Automotive has channeled its inner thunder god when it created the V12 Mjölnir.

With 1850bhp, four turbos, and a hybrid system, this 6.6L V12 is the most powerful road car engine ever fitted. Without the hybrid system, the V12 produces 1250bhp alone! This bespoke and godly engine will be made at MAHLE Powertrain in Northampton, UK, along with its hybrid system.

“A key part of the Aurora programme is around delivering an emotional connection for drivers and passengers, designed to stimulate the senses,” explains Jens Sverdrup, Zenvo Automotive, Chairman. “Sound and visceral drama is what Aurora will be all about, and the engine is a vital element in this, which we will turn up to 11. At Zenvo, we are a team of passionate, genuine ‘car guys’, and it is not every day that a V12 engine is born, so it is very proud moment and very exciting to finally showcase Mjølner. The fact it is the world’s most powerful roadcar engine was not something we set out to achieve, but is a result of us pushing what we know is possible. This is a hugely important milestone, and the next step will see – and hear! – it come to life, and it has been designed to deliver at every level, which shows the progress we continue to make.”

Zenvo Automotive hasn’t stopped at the heavenly numbers either. Along with the 1850bhp, the engine will have a sky-high redline of 9,8000 rpm. The powertrain is even being future-proofed for emissions with additional regulations planned. The MAHLE Jet Ignition system helps to keep this engine road legal but for what car, we’re not totally sure. Likely ending up in the Aurora or the evolution of said car, we will soon find out where this modular V12 ends up!

Cheers!
