You Can Now Buy The Escalade-V In The Middle East

It is the most powerful SUV that Cadillac has ever built.

Last month, Cadillac Arabia previewed the Escalade-V alongside the Lyriq EV and a few others in the Middle East. More specifically, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center. Now, the Escalade-V is available across dealerships in the Middle East. The SUV is by far the most powerful Cadillac has ever built, a fitting attribute to claim the ‘V’ in its nameplate. Also, the Escalade is the first of its kind to enter the V-Series family.

Powering the full-sized SUV is a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 that puts out 682hp and 885Nm of peak torque. A 10-speed automatic handles transmission duties, while an active all-wheel-drive system ensures little oomph goes to waste. As a result, the SUV can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 4.6 seconds, and that’s impressive for a 2.8-tonne vehicle. While the Escalade-V has the same basic engine as its stablemate CT5-V Blackwing but packs a larger 2.65-litre supercharger. That helps overcome the higher inlet and exhaust restrictions on the full-size SUV application.

To ensure the driver gets to relish the mammoth punch, Cadillac has equipped the Escalade-V with features such as Magnetic Ride Control, Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and an electronic limited-slip differential. There’s even a Launch Control function, which summons the SUV’s brain to figure out stuff and deliver the best possible full-throttle start.

As you’d expect, the list of creature comforts, including safety and assistance systems, is quite extensive. It includes 22-inch rims, red brake callipers, quad exhaust outlets, a 36-speaker sound system, and Super Cruise, which allows for hands-free driving in certain conditions. Other features, such as a panoramic sunroof, a colour head-up display, surround vision, automatic emergency braking, a 16.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 14.2-inch digital instrument cluster, augmented reality-enabled navigation and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, are also available.

The Cadillac Escalade-V combines luxury with power, without compromising practicality. And that is a rare recipe. If you had to buy a full-sized SUV with similar power, what would it be?
