Vietnam Airlines operates direct flights to Manila, Philippines, from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Starting next month, Vietnam’s flag carrier will increase the weekly frequency from the former and revise its schedule from the latter to better accommodate traveller needs.
Starting April 1, 2025, the Hanoi-Manila route will operate once daily, up from three weekly services. On the other hand, the nonstop connection to the capital of the Philippines from Ho Chi Minh City will run four times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Simple math reveals that after the new schedule takes effect, Vietnam Airlines will operate eleven weekly flights between its home country and Manila. This will boost tourism between the two nations and provide improved trade opportunities.
According to a report by the Philippine Department of Tourism, the number of tourists from the Philippines visiting Vietnam increased by 73.6 per cent last year compared to 2023. Also, nearly 60,000 Vietnamese travellers visited the Philippines in 2024. Based on these promising figures, the airline has decided to improve connectivity between the two countries.
