Vacheron Constantin (VC) celebrates its 270th anniversary this year. As part of its celebrations and for Watches and Wonders 2025, VC has unveiled the Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date and Patrimony Self-Winding with a new 270th anniversary dial pattern inspired by the brand’s Maltese Cross emblem.

Both the 18K white gold and 18K 5N pink gold version feature a silver-toned dial with the 270th anniversary dial pattern inspired by the brand’s Maltese Cross. The bi-faceted baton-shaped hour and minute hands and the blued retrograde date hand are made from 18K gold. The applied hour-markers are made from 18K gold.
Powered by Calibre 2460 R31L / 270, a manufacture automatic movement that drives the hours, minutes, retrograde date, and precision moon phase display. Diameter: 27.20 mm or 11 ½ lignes. “We wanted the limited editions to illustrate the 270th anniversary on the movements as well as the dial. The ‘côte unique’ is quite symbolic, since it is created by an ancestral craft that had been lost over time and that we had to relearn. The finish is both technical and decorative, with the supports for the gear train appearing to form a continuous and harmonious line. It was rediscovered in 2021, when our Restoration Workshop undertook to recreate the original Historiques American 1921 model and its movement with this ‘côte unique’ finish. Our artisans had to remaster the craft to decorate the five movements in these anniversary editions, a process that required hundreds of hours. Two case options, made from 18K white gold and 18K 5N pink gold. Diameter: 42.50 mm. Thickness: 9.70 mm. Both dial and caseback feature a sapphire crystal. Water resistant up to 3 bar or 30 metres. Both versions come with a green alligator leather strap, which features tone-on-tone stitching, square scales, and calf inner shell. The 18K white gold version comes with a pin buckle made from polished 18K white gold, and the 18K 5N pink gold version comes with a pin buckle made from polished 18K 5N pink gold. The pin buckle is half Maltese cross shaped.
Movement and watch hallmarked with the Poinçon de Genève or Geneva Seal.
Both versions are limited to 270 pieces each.

Our Thoughts
The Patrimony collection is VC’s interpretation of classical Genevan watchmaking. Both the Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date and Patrimony Self-Winding are foundation models in the brand’s catalogue. The new editions with the 270th anniversary dials will surely make them a future collectible.
