A. Lange & Söhne (Lange) has unveiled the ODYSSEUS HONEYGOLD for Watches and Wonders 2025. HONEYGOLD® is a propriety Lange alloy. The ODYSSEUS HONEYGOLD belongs to the ODYSSEUS family. It is a limited edition of 100 pieces.
Key Features
Functions: Central hours and minutes. Seconds and stop-seconds on subdial at 6 o’clock. Day of the week aperture at 9 o’clock and date aperture at 3 o’clock. Screw-down crown at 3 o’clock for winding and time-setting. Two pushers for correcting the date and day of the week.
Brown dial is made from brass. Hour and minute hands and baton-shaped hour markers are made from HONEYGOLD and coated with luminescent material.
Powered by L155.1 DATOMATIC, an automatic movement “crafted to the most exacting Lange quality standards, decorated and assembled by hand; precision-adjusted in five positions; unidirectional winding central rotor with 950 platinum centrifugal mass; balance bridge engraved by hand.” Diameter: 32.90 mm. Height: 6.20 mm. Parts: 312. Jewels: 31. Screwed gold chatons: 1. Lever escapement. Shock-resistant balance features four poising screws. Lange manufactured superior-quality balance spring. The movement features a precision beat adjustment system with cam and whiplash spring. Frequency: 28,800 vph or 4 Hz. Power reserve: 50 hours.
Case is made from 750 HONEYGOLD. Diameter: 40.50 mm. Height: 11.10 mm. Dial and caseback feature a sapphire crystal, with Mohs hardness of 9. Water resistant up to 12 bar or 120 metres. Bracelet is made from 750 HONEYGOLD. It is fitted to a safety deployant buckle which features a “precision adjustment mechanism for adjusting the length.”
Our Thoughts
Modern Lange is a young brand (reborn 1994), yet belongs at the same elite level (some would say greater) as the Holy Trinity of Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, and Vacheron Constantin. Each has a sports watch family (Royal Oak, Nautilus and Aquanaut, and Overseas respectively) with models available in pink gold (AP also has Sand gold). Lange’s ODYSSEUS should definitely not be left out.
Though this is not the first precious metal ODYSSEUS; it was only a matter of time before Lange presented it in a pink gold hue. They selected HONEYGOLD, used by them only in select and special instances. Expect this to be sold out before one can blink an eye.
