Air Serbia And Etihad Enable New Codeshare

Serbia’s and the UAE’s national carriers, Air Serbia and Etihad Airways, have entered a new codeshare partnership. This agreement allows Etihad’s customers to access twelve Southeast European destinations through Air Serbia’s Belgrade hub. Of them, nine are new to Etihad’s extended network. Besides Serbia’s capital, the list includes Bucharest (capital of Romania), Budapest (capital of Hungary), Thessaloniki (Greece), Tirana (capital of Albania), Skopje (capital of the Republic of Macedonia) and Sofia (capital of Bulgaria).

Finding a connecting flight to Abu Dhabi becomes easier for Air Serbia’s customers. They can reach the UAE capital through Athens (Greece), Milan, Rome (both Italy) and Vienna (Austria). Moreover, travellers can use Etihad Guest – a loyalty programme – on both airlines. This allows them to earn flying miles and redeem them for various benefits.

The new codeshare agreement goes live with flights starting February 3, 2024.

Alfa Romeo Milano Gets A Debut Date

Several big names in the automotive industry now have a presence in the world of pure-electric vehicles. However, one name was missing – Alfa Romeo. That is all set to change on April 10, 2024. On that day, the Italian carmaker will unveil its first-ever all-electric vehicle – the Milano. The EV will debut at an event in Milan, Italy.

The Alfa Romeo Milano is in its final stage of development. Here, it is being honed by the same team that helped fine-tune models like the 4C, 8C, Guilia GTA and Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Even the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale project is with the same set of people.

The last development phase revolves around the driving dynamics of the Milano. Alfa Romeo wants a direct and precise steering feel to deliver quick cornering speeds. For that, the company is testing the EV at the Balocco Proving Ground.

CFM Engines To Power New easyJet Planes

It was in December last year when British low-cost airline easyJet announced a firm order for 157 Airbus jets. However, there was no word on who would supply the engines for the aircraft, which would be delivered between FY2029 and FY2034.

We now have an answer. easyJet confirms that it has chosen CFM as the engine supplier. The Cincinnati-headquartered company will provide 314 LEAP-1A engines to power the 56 A320neo and 101 A321neo jets. The agreement also includes spare engines and secured pricing for 200 engines for the 100 purchase rights.

easyJet and CFM have done business with each other since 1995. In fact, the airline’s entire fleet is powered by CFM engines. Per their maker, the new-generation LEAP family powerplants provide a 15-20 per cent reduction in fuel consumption while emitting less CO2 and noise.
