Al-Futtaim Toyota has launched the Toyota bZ4X Touring in the United Arab Emirates. The all-electric SUV features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, a claimed range of up to 480 km, and a spacious interior designed for daily commutes and long journeys.

The vehicle is based on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform, which was developed by Toyota in collaboration with Subaru.

Powertrain and Performance Specifications

The bZ4X Touring is equipped with two electric motors, one mounted on each axle, which generate a combined output of 375 BHP. The 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery powers the electric motors, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.5 seconds.

Silicon carbide semiconductors help reduce energy losses, while the all-wheel-drive control technology ensures optimal power distribution between the front and rear axles. The battery’s placement within the platform also helps maintain a low centre of gravity.

What Is the Driving Range and Off-Road Performance?

According to Toyota, the bZ4X Touring offers a maximum driving range of 480 km under the WLTP test cycle.

The vehicle features X-MODE with three modes designed to improve traction on low-grip surfaces, such as muddy trails and steep inclines. Downhill Assist Control helps regulate the vehicle’s speed during descents.

The ECO mode optimises power delivery to conserve energy, while the NORMAL mode is designed for everyday driving.

What Are the Exterior Features of the bZ4X Touring?

The exterior features Toyota’s distinctive hammerhead-style front design, full LED headlights, and black wheel-arch extensions. The full-width LED rear light bar incorporates the tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, reversing lights, and rear fog lamps.

The roof rails can accommodate compatible cargo accessories, while the roof spoiler and aerodynamic rear bumper contribute to the vehicle’s aerodynamic design.

How Spacious Is the Interior?

The bZ4X Touring offers 603 litres of boot space, with storage hooks to help organise luggage and equipment. Its interior follows a horizontal dashboard design intended to improve forward visibility and create a greater sense of spaciousness.

The 14-inch central infotainment screen provides access to navigation, climate control, audio, and vehicle settings. Other interior features include wireless charging for two devices, smartphone integration, and a nine-speaker JBL audio system.

What Safety Technologies Does It Offer?

Toyota Safety Sense includes driver-assistance and safety technologies such as Pre-Collision Braking and Proactive Driving Assist. These systems are designed to help drivers respond to potential forward collisions and provide deceleration and steering assistance under certain driving conditions.

Although these technologies can support safer driving, they do not replace the need for the driver to remain attentive and maintain control of the vehicle.
