Three Tata SUVs Gain Second Hashtagged Version

Nexon, Harrier and Safari now have a #Jet Edition.

After #Dark Edition, three Tata SUVs have now gained another hashtagged version. The models in question are Nexon, Harrier and Safari, and the new derivative is the #Jet Edition. Before your mind wanders off on some other tangent, let me clear the air. Tata Motors has taken inspiration from the ‘Business Jets’ to name the new derivatives. And not because they can fly, but because the automaker believes they offer a similar aura of “opulence”. Let’s look at the price list first:

The #Jet Editions of the Nexon and the Harrier occupy the top spot in their respective variant line-up. That, however, isn’t the case for the Safari. The Gold Edition of the three-row SUV still remains the most expensive, costing over INR 80,000 more than the #Jet Edition. Before we decipher the #Jet Editions, let me clarify that all three SUVs remain unaltered mechanically. So, the same engine-transmission combos, and there’s absolutely no reported change in performance.

So, what’s different? Firstly, there’s a new exterior colour called Starlight. That’s a combination of an earthy bronze shade for the body, while the roof has a platinum silver finish. Coupled with the dual-tone treatment are Jet Black alloy wheels and silver skid plates at either end. Complementing the exterior is a dual-tone interior, finished in Oyster White and Granite Black. The mid-pad, however, boasts a techno-steel accent, while the doors and floor consoles feature bronze inserts. Lastly, there’s the #Jet embroidery on the front seat headrests and deco stitching on the seats in a bronze thread.

Thankfully, that’s not all. To justify the price difference, the SUVs have other stuff too. Since they are siblings, the Safari and the Harrier get similar additions over and above the aforementioned ones. Their #Jet Editions pack extra features, such as Driver Doze-off Alert, Panic Brake Alert, After Impact Braking, a type-C USB charger for all rows, winged head restraints for the second row, electric parking brake (manual and automatic) and all four disc brakes. In addition, they have wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, an air purifier, a wireless mobile charger and dual-tone leatherette seats with Tata’s Tri-Arrow pattern.

As far as the Nexon #Jet Edition is concerned, that packs stuff like ventilated seats, an electric sunroof with tilt function, an air purifier with AQI display and a wireless mobile charger, among other additions.

The #Jet Edition recipe is interesting. Buy one, and you’ll easily stand out in the crowd. At least, that’s what I think. What about you?
