With the summer season just around the corner comes a natural desire for space and freedom. Coincidentally – or not – Skoda is unveiling the Roadiaq, an Enyaq specially designed for camping. Created by 29 apprentices from the Skoda Academy, the Roadiaq remains for the moment a simple design study that will not lead to a production model. It’s a shame, though, because the result is not lacking in quality.
Based on an Enyaq 80X Sportline, the Roadiaq starts off with a new colour scheme that mixes dark green at the bottom and white at the top. With regard to the latter, the addition of a hood enhances the interior space. The Roadiaq is now 2.05 meters high, while its wheelbase is now 2.77 meters. The length, however, remains unchanged at 4.65 meters.
A well-equipped cabin…
On board, the Roadiaq is welcoming, with a bed accompanied by blankets and pillows made from recycled fabrics. All the equipment of the perfect camper is included, including a cooker with pots and pans, an external shower, a coffee machine and even a survival kit. As with any self-respecting Skoda, the practical aspects have not been neglected, with plenty of storage space.

When it comes to connectivity, the Roadiaq packs a punch, offering occupants an internet connection with a 27-inch flat-screen TV and touch-screen tablet. As on a camper van, an external socket will supply the vehicle with power without using the main battery. A portable solar panel will also produce a welcome surplus of electricity for the vehicle. Finally, there’s an awning that can be attached to the vehicle, as well as a shade for outdoor lunches.
