The Ford Bronco will officially arrive in Europe

The first deliveries will take place next year

Until now, the only way to get a brand new Ford Bronco in Europe was through specialist importers. This was of course coupled with a huge amount of tax and an equally long delivery time. This time will soon be over as Ford has officially announced that the Bronco will be coming to Europe by the end of 2023.

The vehicle will then logically go head to head with the pure offroaders such as the Land Rover Defender or the Jeep Wrangler which are its designated targets. But unlike the latter, the Bronco should be offered in limited quantities in order to maintain a certain exclusivity. Also, the 4X4 will only be available in a selection of countries. The less buoyant markets won’t get the Bronco.

Compared to the American version, the European variant will have its equipment modified to adapt to the regulations of the Old Continent. This includes the engines, which will most likely be revised. The 2.3-litre four-cylinder and the 2.7-litre V6 could see their performance affected. What is certain, however, is that the Bronco will not be offered in right-hand drive, thus automatically losing the British market.

The Bronco Sport, a separate model that is more compact and therefore better suited to the European market, will not cross the Atlantic, at least for the time being. The Bronco Raptor, on the other hand, would have every chance of being exported to Europe. But this happy destiny is only a hypothesis conditioned on the success of the Bronco on the Old Continent. The answer will be given in a few years.
