The coachbuilt Bentley Batur completes development and commences production

Some may see the Bentley Batur as a coachbuilt iteration of the Continental GT kept as the base, but the Batur boasts more than 800 parts exclusive to itself. A developmental programme spanning 58 weeks and over 30,000kms of real-world driving concluded recently, entailing Bentley can now commence production of the 18-units-only Batur in its dedicated coach-built Mulliner workshop. The last unit will be completed at the end of 2024 and all Batur cars will be equipped with a 740hp W12 engine, making it the most powerful Bentley to date. The two prototype cars, internally known as Car Zero and Car Zero-Zero, were built to the same levels of craftsmanship as one of 18 customer cars. The former received a Purple Sector exterior finish with the prominent matrix grille in Gloss Dark Titanium, while the latter featured a striking Marina Teal finish.
