The Audi Q5 e-hybrid Comes With An Impressive Electric Range

Audi is expanding the new Q5 family with the launch of the Q5 SUV e-hybrid quattro and Q5 Sportback e-hybrid quattro models, available in two power levels: 295 HP or 362 HP

In the 362 hp version, the SUV and Sportback can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.1 seconds, while the 295 hp version can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.2 seconds. All models can reach a top speed of 250 kmph. The electric dual-clutch transmission, combined with quattro ultra drive, ensures a driving experience that is both sporty and comfortable.

A new development is a high-voltage battery whose cells in the Q5 e-hybrid are arranged in two levels, one above the other. Audi has increased its battery capacity to 25.9 kWh (20.7 kWh net), approximately 45% more than its predecessor. The maximum AC charging power is 11 kW. If the battery is completely discharged, it takes two and a half hours to charge to 100%.

Two operating modes are available: “EV” and “hybrid.” In EV mode, both the SUV and Sportback operate solely on electric power. When driving in hybrid mode, the hybrid charge management system maintains a specific charge level as needed to provide sufficient electrical energy for later use. In addition to the automatic hybrid mode, the desired charge level can now be selected individually for the first time using a digital slider.

Audi has significantly improved regenerative braking performance. The degree of recuperation in electric (EV) mode can be adjusted to three different levels using the steering wheel control paddles. When this function is activated, the vehicle automatically recovers energy based on route data stored in the navigation system. The Audi Q5 SUV e-hybrid quattro and Q5 Sportback e-hybrid quattro can also recover energy automatically without requiring active lane guidance.

Both plug-in hybrid models come standard with enhanced equipment. The 295 hp power option includes the S sport suspension and three-zone automatic comfort air conditioning. Those who opt for the 362 hp version get LED Plus headlights and LED Pro taillights as standard. The MMI experience, which also comes standard, is equipped with the Audi app store, a smartphone interface, and the Audi sound system. The S line interior package also includes sports seats in a combination of leather and synthetic leather in black, as well as 19-inch ten-arm light-alloy aero wheels and red-painted brake callipers. A convenient feature is the fully adjustable rear seat, which can be moved lengthwise and adjusted for angle.
