The BMW CS cars are the top of the mountain when it comes to performance. There have been many amazing examples, with this being the newest to the stable. The BMW M2 was a no-brainer to CS, and with its added performance, it is on par with the numbers from it’s bigger brother, the M3 Competition with M xDrive.
The short story on numbers is that power is up by 50 horsepower to 530 and torque by 50 Nm to 650. The engine used is the standard M2 twin-turbo 3.0L, but with upgraded management and other details. The only transmission is the eight-speed M Steptronic, but it does come with rear wheel drive only for drift-tastic fun. Zero to sixty-two miles per hour comes in at 3.8 seconds, which is .2 faster than the standard M2.
Weight is down too, by roughly 30 kilograms when compared to the standard M2. Carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) were used and light-alloy M wheels, making this the lightest weight M2 from the current generation. Notably, the roof, mirror caps, trunk lid, rear diffuser, and CS-specific black kidney grills and wheels stand out when looking for unique appearances compared to the standard M2. The limited run of cars will be available in four colors: Velvet Blue metallic, Sapphire Black metallic, M Brooklyn Grey metallic, and M Portimao Blue metallic.
Inside, they’ve given the M2 the usual CS style treatment with plenty of badges to remind you what you’ve paid extra for. The M Alcantara steering wheel with a red center mark and CFRP paddles stands out. The CFRP extends to the center console with M carbon buckets and illuminated CS logos. The usual suite of M Drive modes is standard, with the ten-stage M Traction Control allowing fine tuning for custom handling characteristics.
Cheers!
