The 2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport facelift features a curved infotainment screen

More standard features with new wheels and an all-digital cockpit comprise the highlights

With the recent emergence of highlight models such as the Defender and the fastest Range Rover ever – the Range Rover Sport SV, in the Land Rover line-up, many may have discredited the prominence of the luxury off-roader, the Discovery Sport. Hence, the British SUV marque has unveiled a facelifted Discovery Sport that pushes the luxury off-roader back to relevance with added technology and more standard features than ever.

The 2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport’s most notable change is a curved 11.4-inch infotainment touchscreen embedded with the firm’s latest Pivi Pro software. The new floating touchscreen on the 2024 Discovery Sport lends it a similar dashboard to the most luxurious Land Rover – the Range Rover. The software includes standard Amazon Alexa voice compatibility and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The infotainment system now houses the controls for the climate control system, with the buttons from the centre console getting eliminated for an all-digital look.

The centre console has been revised with more storage space, a wireless charging pad, and multiple USB-C ports. The tall conventional gear lever makes way for a stubby yet elegant-looking shifter, as seen in the bigger Range Rovers, and the same can be said for the new three-spoke steering wheel with shift paddles. The 2024 iteration will also feature a fully digital instrument cluster as standard across trims.

The interior upholstery also benefits with multiple options on offer. Customers can choose between – DuoLeather or a non-leather Suedecloth paired with a textile developed from recycled polyester. Third-row seating is an optional extra, and so is a panoramic roof.

The exterior of the 2024 Discovery Sport largely remains the same with minute tweaks. The base trim now features a gloss-black grille, colour-matching rocker panels, and silver skid plates, whereas the top-end Dynamic trim receives a gloss-black roof and other matching exterior details. The front bumper vents now benefit from an updated three-stroke design on either side. The remaining additions include a new Varesine Blue paint colour and newly designed 19 and 21-inch wheels.

The Discovery Sport continues to offer a range of plug-in electric hybrid and mild hybrid electric powertrains. Courtesy of new battery chemistry, the P300e offers an improved real-world range of up to 47km (29 miles) – enough to do 90 per cent of average daily journeys in electric driving mode, as claimed by Land Rover. Two petrol engines – P250 and P200 Ingenium units and two diesel mills – D200 and D165 round up the line-up. The Discovery Sport is available to order, priced from £44,790 (or $57,050).
