TechArt Monochrome celebrates 50th anniversary of Porsche 911 Turbo

TechArt’s latest modified 911 is based on the GT Street R, available in units only.

It seems that Porsche is not the only one celebrating the 50th anniversary of its iconic 911 Turbo. Tuning companies, including TechArt, participated in the celebrations by providing the “Monochrome,” an exclusive car based on the latest generation of the 911 Turbo that will be available in 20 units only.

Along with its unique design touches, new wheels, and a highly customised interior, the Monochrome retains the aggressive aerodynamics and healthy power boost of its siblings. The comprehensive carbon fibre aerodynamic package has been largely carried over from the GT Street R, with wide fender extensions, aggressive bumper inserts, and a rear wing that comes with a choice of the iconic ducktail wing or a large rear spoiler.

Like on the GT Street R, Techart claims the full aerodynamic package generates four times more downforce than the original Porsche, reducing lift on the front axle by 45 percent at 140 kmph.

Inside, the cabin has been reupholstered in a mix of leather, Alcantara, and heritage fabrics, with enough carbon fibre inserts to remind you that this is a particular car. Black aluminium has been applied to the pedals, footrest, and side sills, with Monochrome and Techart logos scattered throughout the cabin. Of course, everything can be customised to suit the buyer’s wildest dreams.

As for the powertrain, the 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine has been boosted to 800 hp and 950 Nm of torque, enabling a top speed of 350 mph. This represents an increase of 158 hp and 150 Nm over the donor Porsche 911 Turbo S.

Despite the name “Monochrome,” you can order it in various colours, though the dark-themed example really makes a statement.

Techart didn’t give any information regarding the cost of Monochrome, but with its limited production and custom touches, we can easily expect a price much higher than the Porsche 911 Turbo S.
