The Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL), which is the world’s very first franchise-based Supercross league, recently closed its rider registrations for the highly anticipated Season 2 mega auction, happening in August 2025. This year has been huge for ISRL, drawing an incredible 155 riders – that’s more than a 50% jump from Season 1! It truly shows how the league is becoming a major international hub for top Supercross athletes.
This impressive lineup for 2025 includes riders from 21 countries across 6 continents, bringing together a fantastic mix of world champions, rising stars, and home-grown Indian talent. This kind of rapid growth marks an inspiring moment for motorsports in India.
We’re seeing some globally renowned Supercross athletes join for the first time, like:
- Greg Aranda (France) – a 6-time German Supercross Champion
- Anthony Bourdon (France) – the French SX1 Vice Champion
- Maxime Desprey (France) – a French MX & SX Champion
- Justin Starling (USA) – an AMA SX veteran with 106 main events under his belt
- Alexander Fedortsov (USA) – the 2025 SMX Next AMA National Champion
- Luke Clout (Australia) – an AMA SX top 5 rider and World Supercross Championship contender
These new faces will be hitting the track alongside returning international stars such as Matt Moss (Australia), a 9-time Australian Champion and the ISRL Season 1 450cc Champion; Jordi Tixier (France), an MXON World Champion; Reid Taylor (Australia), the ISRL Season 1 250cc International Champion; and Lorenzo Camporese (Italy), a 5-time Italian SX/MX Champion. It’s also great to see top Indian riders like Ikshan Shanbhag and Rugved Barguje, who shined in Season 1, coming back, which highlights the ISRL’s dedication to developing local racing talent.
Eeshan Lokhande, Co-founder of ISRL, pointed out that the sheer number and quality of rider registrations this year clearly show Supercross is on a fast growth path in India. He mentioned that attracting such respected international names alongside all the major Indian Supercross riders is a testament to the global trust the league has built. He sees ISRL becoming a truly world-class platform that riders view as a credible and competitive place to race, and this amazing response motivates them to push the bar even higher. American rider John Short (a Top 10 AMA SX racer), who’s new to the league, shared his excitement about racing in India and connecting with fans and athletes from all over, especially after seeing how well Season 1 went. He’s looking forward to being part of this rapid growth.
With superstar Salman Khan as its Brand Ambassador, Season 2 is gearing up to be even bigger, bolder, and faster. The league will host multiple rounds across various Indian cities from October to December 2025, competing in three categories: 450cc International, 250cc International, and 250cc India-Asia Mix. The final list of registered riders will now be reviewed by the team owners before the Season 2 Mega Auction, where the franchise rider lineups will be finalised. The ISRL continues its mission to reshape the motorsport landscape, aiming to deliver top-notch racing experiences, boost Indian motorsports, and create a dynamic environment where both global legends and local talent can truly shine.
