Subaru unveils the all-new Crosstrek

More style, new features and a redesigned interior

Some cars are rare in our countries. This is the case of the Subaru XV which is timidly present in Europe. This has not prevented the Japanese brand from renewing the vehicle, which has been very successful outside the Old Continent. For its third generation, the small crossover has changed its name. Gone is the XV and in its place is the Crosstrek, a name that will be the same throughout the world.

The styling changes are also obvious, as the front end has a more sculpted grille with a chrome bar extending into the headlights, which have also been refined. In profile, the changes are very limited. The focus is on the rear, with new taillights placed on a stern with worked surfaces. On board, the Crosstrek goes modern with a large 11.6 inch touch screen.

Although the equipment is particularly rich, there is a surprising absence of a digital instrument cluster. The Crosstrek also offers new customisation options, both inside and out. Under the bonnet, the compact SUV hides a 2.0-litre flat four combined with a small electric motor. The CVT gearbox is standard, as is four-wheel drive, of course. The Subaru Crosstrek will arrive in Europe in 2023.

I see some Toyota and Mazda in the Crosstrek’s styling. Your take?

Looks like an Infiniti. Especially the front.
