Small facelift in sight for the Skoda Scala and Kamiq

Their styling will evolve in small steps, while their technological content will undergo a major update

After four years in the catalogue, the Skoda Scala and Kamiq will shortly be receiving their traditional mid-career facelift. Today, the Czech brand is giving us a sneak preview of what’s to come in the form of a teaser giving a brief presentation of the vehicles. Aesthetically speaking, we shouldn’t expect any upheaval, as the changes are particularly measured.

On the Scala, the sketches show more finely chiselled headlights with a new visual signature. The grille has been slightly enlarged, while the wheelbase has been revised. At the rear, the changes appear to be even more limited, with only the design of the taillights being updated. The story is the same for the Kamiq, with only minor differences.

A significant multimedia update

The grille is also wider, while the daytime running lights are slimmer. The headlamps are narrower, while the taillights are more angular. On board, we can expect an updated multimedia system with a larger touchscreen and new trim options. Technological content is also set to improve, and hybrid powertrains could make their appearance in a bid to catch up with the competition. The facelifted Skoda Scala and Kamiq will be unveiled on 1 August, with orders due to open at the end of the year.
