Skoda unveils the design of its future electric cars

First sketch with the Vision 7S

Unlike Volkswagen, Skoda has decided to keep the styling of its electric cars close to that of the internal combustion models. The Enyaq iV could fit between the Karoq and the Kodiaq without any problem and anyone who is not aware of the fact that the Enyaq iV is actually an electric vehicle would not be able to tell. This is not the case for Volkswagen, which has chosen to differentiate the ID. range from the combustion models.

For its future cars, Skoda will proceed in the same way with electric vehicles with a design that will be more different from that of the traditional models. The first sketches of the Vision 7S concept are the first steps in this new line. Interesting details include the front and rear lights, which are T-shaped and extend into the bumpers, while the grille is slimmed down.

A protective skirt flanked by seven bars appears on SUVs. The sides of the car are more fluid and contrast with the current models, which have more sculpted edges. The windscreen is more sloping and the roofline is generally slimmer with a floating roof. The slightly sloping rear window is topped by a two-piece spoiler.

The interior is in keeping with Skoda’s tradition of spaciousness. It appears very spacious and can accommodate seven passengers. In contrast to the exterior, the dashboard is similar in style to that of the Enyaq iV, i.e. very simplistic with a small display behind the steering wheel combined with a large touch screen in the centre. The Vision 7S concept will lead to a series production model that will stand above the Enyaq iV in 2024.
