Remember This Lancia? Manhart Does!

The German tuner adds muscle and style to the rally legend.

If you’re unaware, the Lancia Delta is a legend in the world of rallying. Why? It won the World Rally Championship six times consecutively, between 1987 and 1992. Hence, it does occupy a special spot for Lancia and enthusiasts alike. What you see here is the Manhart-tuned Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16V. And although it looks old-school, it does have a mighty punch. Created under the Manhart Classic Cars label, it’s called the Integrale 400.

First, inevitably, the powerplant. The German tuner took the standard powertrain, which produced 200hp/298Nm, and upped it to 375hp/550Nm. That came courtesy of various hardware adjustments, including upgrades to the turbocharger, introductions of the Manhart camshaft, forged pistons and H-beam connecting rods, radiator, ventilator and Group N air intake, and a Bosch fuel pump. There’s also a 3.5-inch exhaust system with two 80mm (diameter) tailpipes.

The Manhart Integrale 400 also packs a beefed-up five-speed manual transmission with Group N components. It’s linked to the engine via a Manhart clutch from Sachs. Other mechanical changes include coilover suspension by KW Suspensions and a more potent braking system backed by Brembo callipers on 380x28mm discs on the front axle and 2-piston callipers on 284x22mm discs. The hatchback rides on 17-inch OZ Racing Rallye Racing rims, wrapped with 205/40-profile tyres. Those rims are finished in Dark Graphite with silver lettering. However, Manhart says other colour finishes are possible.

To tweak the exterior presence of the car, Manhart added an Evo roof spoiler along with the standard décor set (logos, decals, etc.). Indoors, there’s leather and Alcantara upholstery and Manhart’s short shift, Evo instruments and sports steering wheel with a 350mm diameter. Rounding off the cosmetic changes inside the cabin are floor mats with Manhart branding.

So, there you have it. A Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16V made a lot more desirable. If you had one, would you take it to Manhart?
