Range Rover SV Masāra Edition Launched In India — A Boxer & Ballet-Dancer Dressed In A Limited-Edition Sherwani

The Range Rover SV Masāra Edition has officially made its debut in India. With only 12 units available globally, this limited-run SUV is a cultural homage wrapped in bespoke craftsmanship and British engineering.

Indian Soul

The Masāra Edition is inspired by rare Himalayan sapphires, and it shows. The exterior wears a deep satin blue paint exclusive to this edition. It’s a colour that does more than just turn heads, it tells a story. Accents in silver chrome and warm Corinthian Bronze elevate the rich tones, with the colour scheme extending to the roof and mirror caps.

Sitting on 23-inch Oblivion 1077 wheels with a diamond-turned finish and gloss dark grey contrast, the Masāra Edition looks every bit the part of an ultra-exclusive Range Rover. Black brake callipers and SV-specific touches complete the SUV’s bespoke exterior.

The name ‘Masāra’ comes from Sanskrit, grounding this limited edition firmly in Indian culture. It follows the Ranthambore Edition, continuing JLR’s India-inspired special editions.

Private Lounge-Like Cabin

Inside, it’s pure SV luxury. The Masāra Edition pairs Liberty Blue leather with light Perlino leather in a custom dual-tone design. White ceramic detailing and noble chrome trim bring in a level of sophistication that speaks volumes of the SV division’s attention to detail.

And it doesn’t stop there. The interior is finished with cream ash Burr Veneer, giving the cabin a natural texture with visual warmth. Exclusive seat embroidery, custom scatter cushions, and tread plates marked “1 of 12” drive home just how special this edition is.

Rear passengers are treated to the SV Signature Suite. Think fully reclining seats, a powered club table, deployable cupholders, and even a fridge with SV-etched glassware. It’s not just luxury – it’s curated comfort.

Boxer & Ballet Dancer

Under the bonnet, the Masāra Edition is no show pony. It is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, delivering 615hp and 750Nm of torque. This tried and tested powertrain propels the SUV from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 261km/h. That’s serious grunt for a vehicle that wears a sherwani.

Power is delivered to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Masāra Edition also includes off-road adaptive cruise control and a high/low-range gearbox — proof that this Range Rover isn’t just for the city. It’s capable off-road too, staying true to the brand’s go-anywhere DNA.

Backing the power is the advanced 6D Dynamics suspension system. This tech uses hydraulically linked dampers and height-adjustable air springs instead of traditional anti-roll bars. It keeps the body level during hard cornering or quick acceleration, without sacrificing ride comfort.

The Exclusive Club

Rajan Amba, Managing Director of JLR India, summed it up well: “This edition is a thoughtful tribute to India’s rich culture, showcasing our deep understanding of Indian connoisseurs’ refined taste.”

At Rs 4.99 crore (ex-showroom), the SV Masāra Edition isn’t for everyone, and that’s the point. With just 12 units made, it’s aimed squarely at collectors and serious luxury buyers who want something that blends exclusivity with Indian heritage.
