Remember what Polestar unveiled back in March 2022? It was a concept car named O2, showcasing the maker’s vision of what an open-top performance machine could look like. Well, that news broke less than six months ago, and we already have a massive development. The Swedish brand has confirmed that in 2026 (most likely), the O2 Concept will enter production as the Polestar 6. It will carry the same basic formula – an electric performance roadster. And if you’d like a piece of that in your life, you can reserve a build slot right away. The minimum token amount is USD 25,000, while the indicative price of the final car is USD 200,000.
Of course, if you deposit that money right now, you’ll get something pretty exclusive. The first 500 units of the Polestar 6 will be numbered and called the Polestar 6 LA Concept edition. Some bespoke features include custom-designed 21-inch alloy wheels (from the O2 Concept), the unique Sky exterior paint (other options available), bodyside graphics and a standout interior draped in animal welfare-secured leather.
The confirmed specifications will only surface once the roadster is close to becoming a reality. However, Polestar does have some targets in mind. The list includes a maximum power output of 872bhp and a peak torque of 900Nm. With those, the Polestar 6 should hit 100kmph from nothing in 3.2 seconds and clock 250kmph at full stretch. The oomph will come from dual motors, offering an all-wheel-drive setup. Unfortunately, we don’t have a figure for the battery size, not even a rough one. But, the brand is targeting a 595km+ range on a single charge.
Yes, Polestar will have to tone down the O2 Concept to become a viable product. But, going by the brand’s curriculum vitae and the upcoming Polestar 3, the Polestar 6 will drop jaws on the floor. What do you think?
