Oris celebrates its founding with the fun new Hölstein Edition 2025

Oris has introduced the Hölstein Edition 2025, a special lumed mystery dial version of the ProPilot series. The sixth Hölstein Edition watch, it celebrates the founding of Oris – June 1st, 1904.

Key Features

Functions

Image: Just the essentials, evoking a no-nonsense aesthetic.

Central hours, minutes, and seconds. Stop-second function.

Dial

Image: The Oris Bear between 3 and 4 o’clock appears when the dial is fully lumed. A great conversation starter at watch GTG’s.

White dial coated with green Super-LumiNova. The hands, Arabic numerals, and hour and minute scale are all black.

“Initially, anyone can appreciate a bear and what he stands for. But to understand the Oris Bear, you have to have been around the brand and to have spent time with us and our products to really get it. He’s the warm, relaxed, approachable, easy-going figure that tells our story at a deeply emotional level. This year we decided to put him on the dial for the first time, but only to make him visible when the lights go out and the lume around him reveals his silhouette. That’s playful, but like Plato said, we need to see the light to understand. I’m sure passionate Oris fans will appreciate this.” – Rolf Studer, Oris Co-CEO.

Case

Image: The DLC plated case looks great.

Multi-piece case and screw-in crown are made from stainless steel and feature black DLC plating.

Diameter: 41 mm. Thickness: 11.90 mm. Lug width: 20 mm. Lug-to-lug distance: 49 mm.

Dial side features domed (on both sides) sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Stainless steel screwed caseback features black DLC plating, special engravings, and a sapphire crystal. The printed ring on the caseback is coated with green Super-LumiNova. Water resistant up to 100 metres.

Watch comes with a leather lined textile strap fitted to a Oris developed ‘LIFT’ folding clasp with black DLC plating.

Movement

Image: Every Hölstein Edition is powered by Calibre 400, a modern and dependable movement.

Powered by ORIS Calibre 400 (no date), an in-house automatic movement that drives the hours, minutes, seconds, and stop-second function.

Diameter: 30 mm (13 ¼ lignes). Frequency: 28,800 vph or 4 Hz. Jewels: 21. Power reserve: 120 hours or 5 days.

Movement is highly antimagnetic. Accuracy: -3/+5 seconds a day, which is within COSC tolerances.

Our Thoughts

Image: The printed caseback ring when lit up. A super cool feature.

The Hölstein Edition 2025 is both versatile and fun at the same time. Versatile, as its white dial paired with black accents and Arabic numerals make it suitable for both work and casual occasions. Fun, as its lumed dial with mystery bear and caseback ring reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously. CHF 4,150 is not exactly cheap but is still relatively affordable for this well-executed and limited-edition watch. The Hölstein Edition 2025 is a gift or “token of appreciation for the Oris community” and will hugely appeal to those passionate about the brand.
