New Porsche Cayenne Launched In The UAE

It arrives in both body forms – SUV and Coupe.

After unveiling it to the world for the first time in April this year, Porsche has launched the new Cayenne range in the UAE. The event was hosted and organised by Al Nabooda Automobiles, the official importer for Porsche in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Buyers can choose between both body styles – SUV and Coupe – with a conventional powerplant under the bonnet or a hybrid.

The entry-level SUV and Coupe derivatives of the new Porsche Cayenne pack a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 under the bonnet. That’s good for 349hp/600Nm, enough for a 0-100kmph sprint time of 6 seconds for the SUV and 5.7 seconds for the Coupe. However, both versions will top out at 248kmph. Next in line are the E-Hybrid variants, which use the same V6 plus an electric motor. With 464hp/650Nm on tap, they can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 4.9 seconds and reach 254kmph flat out. E-Hybrid derivatives can travel up to 86km on electric power alone, with the top speed capped at 135kmph.

Those looking for a bit more punch can settle for the Cayenne S in either body style. In this form, the model comes with a turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 that pumps out 468hp/600Nm. The claimed 0-100kmph sprint times are 5 seconds for the SUV and 4.7 seconds for the Coupe version. The top speed is 273kmph. Porsche has also lined up the Turbo GT variant, only available in Coupe form. That uses the same V8 but offers 650hp/850Nm, enough for a 3.3-second standard sprint time and a top speed of 305kmph.

The most powerful of the lot are the Turbo E-Hybrid derivatives. They output 730hp/950Nm, courtesy of a combination of the V8 mentioned above and an electric motor. As a result, they both can hit 100kmph from nothing in 3.7 seconds and clock 295kmph at full stretch. Regardless of the variant, the new Porsche Cayenne has an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The new Porsche Cayenne has an impressive list of features. It includes Matrix LED headlights, four-zone automatic climate control, powered and adaptive sports seats in the front, a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 15-watt wireless mobile charger and adaptive air suspension.

Pricing? That starts at AED 368,900 and goes up to AED 811,400 (including VAT). Porsche says that deliveries will start within the current month.
