Manhart Calls It The MH4 GTR II

The tuner takes the latest M4 CSL and boosts it up to 702hp.

If you had the G82 BMW M4 CSL, you’d probably feel quite satisfied with its performance. And on top of that, the limited-run production of 1,000 units adds to the overall kick. Manhart, however, has created a mouth-watering package for the said car. It ropes in more power, better mechanicals and gaudy styling elements. And in typical Manhart fashion, the finished product is called the MH4 GTR II.

Powertrain, first. Obviously! The 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged six-cylinder mill offers 510hp/650Nm in the standard BMW M4. In the CSL version, the power figure goes up to 550hp. Manhart takes that and adds a new auxiliary control unit, which takes the system output up to 702hp/880Nm. Simple math reveals an increment of 152hp/230Nm. Also added to the mix is a Manhart stainless steel exhaust system, which vents out through four 110mm tailpipes (with carbon or ceramic coating). One could choose between Manhart Race downpipes with or without catalytic converters. Neither option comes with the TÃœV approval, making them both exclusively available for markets outside Germany.

The MH4 GTR II also rides lower, courtesy of the customised suspension. The new setup features height-adjustable Manhart coil springs by H&R. As for the brakes, those haven’t been altered and remain in their standard state. However, the tuner does offer upgrades to the system, which should complement the considerable increase in punch.

Apart from that, the tuned car comes with new Yido Performance forged alloys, measuring 20 inches in diameter and fatter rubber at the rear in comparison to the front. Manhart offers various colour finishes to the wheels. Here, the matte black finish with orange-red accents goes well with the body of the speed machine. In addition to the striking colour finishes, the finished product also features an 18-piece Manhart carbon body kit. That includes a bonnet with GTR air intakes, side aero flicks at the front, a front spoiler, side skirts, a two-piece rear skirt, a diffuser and a three-piece rear spoiler.

Rounding up the package are Manhart-branded floor mats, 4-point racing harnesses, a Clubsport roll bar and a carbon fibre motorsport helmet for serious on-track blasts. All-in-all, the MH4 GTR II promises a no-nonsense experience. I wonder, however, how much faster is it with the extra oomph on tap.
