Munich-headquartered Lufthansa City Airlines began operations as a regional carrier in June last year. Until this week, the airline had a seven-aircraft fleet comprising four Airbus A319s and three Airbus A320neos. Now, Lufthansa City Airlines has taken delivery of its first brand-new Airbus A320neo, bumping the overall count to eight. Bearing registration D-AIJP, the narrowbody aeroplane has 180 seats and features the new Airspace cabin, roomier overhead bins, a modern lighting system, and comfier seating. It’s scheduled to enter service next month.
In addition to the newly received aircraft, Lufthansa City Airlines expects delivery of five more brand-new A320neos and two additional A320neos before 2025 ends. Simple math reveals that before the calendar reads 2026, the carrier will have a 15-aircraft fleet. From the end of 2026, the airline is expected to receive the first of 40 Airbus A220-300s on order.

The list comprises Barcelona, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Düsseldorf, Rome, Edinburgh, Seville and Bordeaux. With those added, the carrier now offers flights to 17 destinations.
