Two giants in their respective fields have joined forces for the first time to create an apparel collection. Levi’s, the brand synonymous with ‘denim’ since the early 1870s, and McLaren Racing, a much-celebrated name in motorsports, have jointly launched the Levi’s x McLaren Racing Collection. It comprises a racing jacket, a racing suit, racing gloves, Heritage trucker, Heritage 501 jeans, Constructors tee and a racing bandana.
The racing jacket features a chain stitch embroidery logo on the back and twill taping at the cuffs and hem. It also has a satin liner and an embossed veg tan leather co-branded patch. Like the jacket, the racing suit is offered in a light wash. The suit features a slight drop crotch and roomy fit in a straight-leg form. Other highlights include vintage-inspired and co-brand patches, a veg tan leather zipper and a crackle print on the right leg.
The gloves, boasting a three-tone finish, are inspired by vintage McLaren Racing posters. Besides the colours, the perforated pair is made of Italian leather and fits snugly using Levi’s shank for snap closure. A debossed McLaren logo and embroidered signature of the brand’s founder, Bruce McLaren, add the final touches.
The cropped and boxy fit Heritage trucker dons a medium wash with pintucks at the elbows. The trucker also features prominent and vintage-inspired patches on the front, red co-branded patches with references to the ‘80s McLaren classic cars at the back and a front-centre zipper with red tape.
Featuring an ‘80s McLaren at the front is the main highlight of the Constructors tee. The racing bandana, on the other hand, boasts classic Levi’s motifs and ‘80s McLaren graphics. And lastly, the iconic 501 jeans. The left-back pocket has been ditched in favour of a shadow pocket with a crackle print and a zipper pocket at the top. Rounding off the denim lowers are multiple patches honouring McLaren Racing’s history and a co-branded back patch.
The Levi’s x McLaren Racing Collection was launched globally on July 3, 2024. It is now available in the UAE exclusively at Levi’s Store in Dubai Mall.
