Kia Showcases Advanced Military Vehicles At UAE IDEX 2025

The company unveils the Kia Tasman, the brand’s first exclusive pickup truck, equipped with special off-road features for the Middle East and Africa market

Kia is showcasing advanced defence and utility vehicles at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX), the largest defence exhibition in the Middle East and Africa. Held from February 17 to 21 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), bringing together more than 1,350 companies from 65 countries.

At this year’s show, Kia will showcase the Kia Medium Tactical Vehicle (KMTV) Bonnet-Type Bare Chassis, the Kia Light Tactical Vehicle (KLTV) 2-seater Cargo model, and the Kia Tasman.

With a water fording capacity of up to one metre, the KMTV can navigate slopes of up to 60 percent longitudinally and 40 percent transversely, accommodating up to 25 soldiers. The KMTV Bonnet-Type chassis has a hood-like design that places the driver’s seat behind the engine, providing enhanced protection. The KMTV chassis can be developed for different purposes thanks to its basic structure.

The KLTV 2-seater Cargo is designed for adaptability and flexibility in various operating environments. It has a water fording capacity of up to 760 mm, can climb longitudinal slopes of 60% and cross-side slopes of 40%, and operates reliably in temperatures as low as -32°C. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with an electromagnetic interference (EMI) shield, making it suitable for high-tech military applications. It is currently in service across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. It has also been selected for the military vehicle replacement programme in Poland.

Kia will also introduce the brand’s first-ever exclusive pickup truck, the Kia Tasman. Designed specifically for the Middle East market, the Kia Tasman features a matte desert-coloured finish, a snorkel system for enhanced off-road capabilities, and a front bumper for improved safety.

Kia’s participation at IDEX 2025 aims to highlight the future direction of its special-purpose vehicle development.
