The more raucous and vicious the Porsche 911, the more likely you’d hear the term ‘widow maker’ used to describe it. Cars that seemingly always produced power when you expected, until that one time it put you into a wall. The problem was that the power didn’t come when you thought it would, or you were simply not on your A-game to handle it. Either way, Manhart has used the most recent widow maker and turned it into a complete animal. If there is a car that might kill or maim you, this might be it.
Manhart took the last-generation Porsche 911 GT2 RS and applied their magic, as that was the most recent, extreme version of a 911. The stock car has 700 hp and 750 Nm. This Manhart TR950 was pumped up to 966 hp and 1,090 Nm utilizing an ECU remapping and a turbo kit.
TTH turbochargers, a Manhart charge air and engine cooler by CFS, and an aluminum Manhart IPD manifold were used. Manhart didn’t stop there as they added a water intercooler by Manthey with a larger tank. Sport downpipes by Manhart, sport catalytic converters, and even a clutch upgrade and software for the 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (PDK) rounded out the full list of performance modifications.
Underneath, they’ve added Manthey-KW coilover suspension and kept the already amazing carbon-ceramic brakes from Porsche. Manhart Forged Line wheels in 21”x 9.5” and 22”x 12” with 255/30/21 and 335/25/22 wheels and tires are added with individual colors available. The whole package is complete with Manhart carbon fiber accessories by DB Carbon for additional downforce and style.
This is a wild car. Nearly one thousand horsepower from something that was already one of the greats with ‘only’ seven hundred. It’s something any diehard enthusiast would love to get their hands on. I’d be a bit cautious with the skinny pedal, as this being a widow maker, you don’t want to reinforce that bit of history.
Cheers!
