Since Kia began its India innings, it has set the pace for others to follow. In addition to its fantastic domestic market performance, it has also established a leading export hub for Kia markets worldwide. A few days ago, it announced that it has surpassed the one lakh mark since it began shipping CKD (Completely Knocked Down) units to overseas markets in June 2020 from its manufacturing facility in Anantapur.
Now, that’s an impressive feat by any standards. What makes it even more of a milestone is that as things stand, Kia India’s export hub accounts for 50 per cent of the global CKD exports for Kia worldwide. In 2024, the company’s Indian arm expects to ship more than 38,000 CKD units across Uzbekistan, Ecuador, and Vietnam. The three models that will make up the count are Seltos, Sonet, and Carens.
To date, Kia India has exported 3.67 lakh cars to several markets around the globe.
