What did Kawasaki unveil?
Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki has introduced two new off-road models: the KX327 for motocross and the KX327X for cross-country use for its 2027 lineup.

What Powers the KX327 Family of offroaders?
The Kawasaki KX327 and KX327X are powered by a 327cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder two-stroke engine.
What makes the new engine special?
The Kawasaki KX327 and KX327X use a newly developed 327cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder two-stroke engine. What makes this engine special is that the Japanese manufacturer has not produced a brand-new 2-stroke motor over 250 cc in more than two decades.
Conventionally, off-road motorcycles in this category still opt for carburettors for their simple mechanical nature, allowing for easier maintenance and on-the-go tuning.
However, the KX327’s new 327cc engine incorporates a Fuel injection system, which comes with its own advantages, allowing for much more precise fuel delivery regardless of the temperature or atmospheric pressure, an essential criterion to keep in mind while going off-road.

What chassis and mechanical hardware does the Kawasaki KX327 Twins use?
Both the Kawasaki KX327 and KX327X are based on a KX450-derived aluminium perimeter frame, which gives the bikes a modern race-bike foundation. As for the suspension hardware, both models make use of the KYB 48mm inverted coil-spring fork and a KYB rear shock with Uni-Trak linkage, offering optimum stability and sharp handling on rough trails.
Kawasaki equips both bikes with Nissin brakes and petal-style discs. The KX327 uses a 19-inch rear wheel typical of motocross bikes, while the KX327X uses an 18-inch rear wheel for better off-road compliance.
What rider aids are included?
Both Kawasaki KX327 models feature electric start, hydraulic clutch, two engine maps, and smartphone connectivity through Kawasaki’s Rideology app. The Rideology app allows riders to track ride logs, maintenance reminders and play with the settings on the bike.
What is the difference between the KX327 and KX327X?
While both KX327 models are based on the same platform, both models offer different use cases. The KX327 is the motocross-focused version, while the KX327X is tuned for cross-country and trail riding.
The motocross KX327 model gets a 5-speed gearbox and a 19-inch rear wheel, while the KX327X, intended for cross-country, features a 6-speed gearbox and a smaller 18inch rear wheel. The KX327X also comes with additional inclusions such as a skid plate, linkage guard, rear brake disc guard, hand guards, a larger 8.3-litre tank and a kickstand for cross-country readiness.
When will the bikes go on sale?
Priced at USD 9,099 for the KX327 and USD 9,699 for the KX327X, the off-road motorcycles are expected to hit the showroom floor by the end of 2026.
