Honda’s all-new ZR-V SUV is aimed at the younger buyers

The new ZR-V features a 12-speaker audio setup by Bose developed exclusively for this car

Creating gaps within segments is one area modern carmakers are excelling at. And Japanese carmaker Honda recognised one such gap between its HR-V and CR-V models in its UAE line-up, which led to the latest launch of the new ZR-V SUV in the Middle East. Two trims – LX and EX are on offer, with the former priced at AED 119,900 and the latter commanding AED 129,900.

Honda claims the “ZR-V is aimed at young, image conscious buyers who seek a stylish, powerful, and fun-to-drive vehicle”. Hence, Honda has approached a fresh approach towards the ZR-V’s styling with an all-new front end featuring an aggressive grille and sleek headlamps that get complimented with horizontal LED rear lights that neatly integrate into the tailgate.

Power is handled by the fitment of a turbo-charged 1.5L i-VTEC engine that provides 180hp and 240Nm of torque. The Honda ZR-V offers fuel efficiency of up to 16.5kmpl, giving a potential range of 940km from a full gas tank. The engine gets mated to a CVT gearbox which could be a crucial reason behind the impressive mileage, but the driver also gets paddle shifters if they desire to take matters into their own hands.

The ability to stay connected and boast a sonorous sound system is paramount to younger car buyers. And the new SUV enables both by offering a 12-speaker audio system developed exclusively for the ZR-V by Bose, a 9” touchscreen that supports Android Auto and wireless Apple Carplay, and a wireless charging pad. Further creature comforts include dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, front and rear parking sensors, a 10.2” digital instrument cluster, leather seats with 8-way power adjustment, a power-operated tailgate, and the Multiview 360-degree camera system.

As standard, the Honda ZR-V gets equipped with 8 airbags. Further safety supervision is provided with Honda Sensing driver assistance systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Collision Mitigation Braking System.

Customers can experience the ZR-V in person at Al-Futtaim Honda Showrooms across the UAE in Dubai Festival City, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi Umm Al Nar.
