What inspired the Genesis X Skorpio?

Inspired by the black scorpion and its ability to thrive in harsh environments, the Genesis X Scorpio Concept is an extreme off-road recreational vehicle. This creation is meant to represent Genesis’ vision to blend ‘daring innovation with luxury’. “The X Skorpio concept is an extreme off-road vehicle designed to be driven across the toughest and harshest terrain,” said Luc Donckerwolke, Chief Creative Officer of Genesis. “With a tubular frame, a full roll cage and many components sourced directly from off-road endurance racing specialists, the X Skorpio Concept explores yet another facet of the Genesis brand and highlights our intent to inject emotion and adrenaline into different segments.”

What features on the exterior and interior of the Genesis X Skorpio?

The exterior design of the Genesis X Skorpio draws heavy inspiration from the black scorpion. The scorpion’s iconic arching tail is mimicked across the vehicle’s tension-filled curves. The segmented armour-like panels on the X Skorpio draws from the animal’s exoskeleton as well as allowing for quicker and easier repairs in extreme environments. Genesis further embed’s its own signature Two-Line design on the front and rear lamps along with the brand’s ethos of luxury inside the cabin by opting for suede and leather for the upholstery with intricate gradient patterns that features unique stitching inspired by the segmented legs of the scorpion.

What powers the Genesis X Skorpio?

The off-roader concept comes equipped with a high-performance V8 engine delivering 1100hp and 1152Nm torques. Power gets put down on the ground via 18-inch beadlock wheels paired with custom 40-inch off-road tires for superior grip on rugged terrain. Stopping power comes courtesy of Brembo Motorsport Brakes. Additionally, the body is constructed using an innovative combination of fiberglass, carbon fiber and Kevlar for a balanced approach towards durability and reduced weight.

What are Genesis’ future plans?
