Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6: ($1,100 & $1,900 Starting Price)

Samsung’s foldable phones received their annual refresh, with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 boasting the slimmest and lightest designs yet. Durability is a key focus, with a strengthened folding edge, enhanced layering for the main screen to improve crease visibility, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for overall protection. Both phones run on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and incorporate a vapour chamber cooling system for improved thermal performance. The Z Fold 6 boasts a larger vapour chamber compared to its predecessor, while the Z Flip 6 marks the first time a Flip model includes this technology.

These 2024 flagships are packed with AI features, including a fully integrated Google Gemini app capable of generating detailed images from sketches and drafting emails based on prompts. The camera systems also benefit from AI enhancements. A particularly exciting feature is the enhanced Interpreter app that utilizes the dual-screen format to provide on-device translations for more natural conversations. Both displays have increased in size, with the Z Fold 6’s main screen boasting a 2.7mm wider view and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, matching the Galaxy S24. The Z Flip 6 received a major camera upgrade with 50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide sensors, along with a bump in base memory to 12GB. Both phones are available for pre-order now, with general availability starting on July 24th. Pre-order incentives include storage upgrades for both models.

Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra: ($300 & $650 Starting Price)

The Watch Ultra boasts a wider operating range (from -500 meters below sea level to 9,000 meters above), water resistance up to 100 meters, and a titanium frame. It prioritizes long battery life, offering up to 100 hours in power-saving mode and 48 hours with exercise power-saving enabled. Additionally, it boasts advanced health features like multi-course workout tracking, personalized heart rate zones, an emergency siren, sleep apnea monitoring, and a new programmable Quick Button.

For those seeking a more traditional smartwatch experience, the Galaxy Watch 7 offers the latest upgrades. This model utilizes a 3nm processor for faster performance and improved power efficiency. A dual-frequency GPS system enhances location accuracy, and health-tracking capabilities have been improved. The Galaxy Watch 7 introduces double pinch gestures for device control. The Watch Ultra is available in a single 47mm size for $650, while the Watch 7 comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes with a starting price of $300.
