The UAE flag carrier Etihad Airways will add a new route to Russia to its network this summer. The airline will launch a year-round nonstop service between its home hub, Abu Dhabi, and Sochi, located along the Black Sea, on May 29, 2025. Sochi, home to beautiful beaches and lush mountains, will become Etihad’s fourteenth new destination in 2025. Travellers can also enjoy skiing and snowboarding activities in the nearby Caucasus Mountains, which gained popularity during the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Subject to relevant regulatory approvals, the newly announced connection will be offered thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. An Airbus A320 family aircraft, with eight seats in Business Class and 150 in Economy, will ferry passengers. Flight EY858 will depart from Zayed International Airport, Abu Dhabi, at 09:00 and land at Sochi International Airport at 12:20. Those travelling in the opposite direction can board Etihad’s flight EY859, which will leave from Sochi at 14:10 and arrive in the UAE’s capital at 19:00. All times mentioned are local.
