To expand its reach to more exciting and sought-after destinations, Emirates has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bahamasair, the flag carrier of the Bahamas, to establish an interline partnership. This partnership enables the Dubai-headquartered airline to strengthen its presence in the Caribbean by allowing passengers to use Bahamasair services from Florida to one of three destinations on the island nation.

More specifically, Emirates passengers travelling to Miami or Orlando can fly with Bahamasair to Nassau, Freeport or San Salvador. In addition to a single ticket itinerary, travellers will also benefit from a “generous” baggage allowance when taking the connecting Bahamasair flight to any of the three destinations mentioned above. The inked MoU also mentions that both airlines will explore opportunities to deepen their ties through enhanced cargo interline cooperation and their frequent flyer programmes.
Miami and Orlando are among the 12 US destinations that Emirates currently serves. The carrier uses a Boeing 777 on the daily Dubai-Miami route and has five weekly flights to Orlando.
