Dwyane Wade Launches Second Versace Eyewear Collection

The Hall of Famer continues to be the face of Versace eyewear.

Italian luxury lifestyle brand Versace has extended its partnership with Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade as the face of the eyewear segment. The New York Times best-selling author, philanthropist, and entrepreneur is a renowned figure in the NBA world. He wore Versace to his enshrinement ceremony into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame earlier this year.

For the new eyewear collection, Versace asked Dwyane to create a personal profile using a few items close to him and the stories behind them. The items he shared included his first NBA Championship ring, a camera and a photograph of his daughter, Kaavia.

The three resulting eyewear derivatives include two sunglasses and a pair of spectacles. The one designed for transparent lenses – VE3354 – has a squared shape, a flat top, metal hinges with wraparound Medusa head plaques and is made from recycled acetate with double-layered construction in colour contrast. It is available with a black top paired with light or blue Havana shades.

The VE4464 is the first of the two sunglasses. It has a rectangular frame with a flat top, while metal hinges with Medusa head decoration are unmissable. It has the same construction technique and material as mentioned above. Buyers have two colour options – Havana red and Havana blue. Both come with a black top and dark grey lenses.

Those who prefer a slimmer silhouette can settle for the VE4465 model, which, besides boasting a narrower profile, is available in two colour combinations – Havana with black top and white with black top. In both cases, the lenses are dark grey. Other highlights in construction and plaques are shared with the other two models above.
