dAHLer Details Stage One Upgrade For New BMW M2

And along with a tasty tune, the Swiss give the pocket-sized rocket a bolder look.

Go-fast BMWs are always on the radar for keen drivers. And the new-gen M2 (G87) exemplifies that perfectly. That said, some would want to add more chillies to the recipe. And taking their pocket-sized rocket to a tuner will, perhaps, top the list of activities planned. And that’s where dAHLer’s latest creation comes in – the stage one upgrade for the two-door BMW mentioned above. The Swiss tuner buckets the package under its ‘Competition Line’.

Obviously, we start with the powerplant. The standard BMW M2 has 460hp/550Nm from its turbocharged 3.0-litre engine. The stage one upgrade from dAHLer ups those figures to 552hp/660Nm, an increment of 92hp/110Nm. Although it isn’t mentioned, the added oomph will noticeably quicken the acceleration. Optional extras include a carbon fibre air intake, a sports air filter and a stainless steel exhaust system featuring ceramic-coated tailpipes stretching 100mm in diameter.

Complementing the increased output are custom sports springs made by dAHLer, lowering the ride height by 27mm at the front and 25mm at the rear. However, there’s also the choice of a high-performance coilover suspension, offering the flexibility of adjustment to aspects like height, stiffness and the camber. Furthermore, sports brake linings and Stahlflex brake lines support the car’s M Compound braking system for improved stopping power.

The tuner has also made the M2 look bolder. There’s an aesthetic spoiler lip, also available in a carbon fibre finish, at the front. Apart from that, the 19- and 20-inch standard wheels have been ditched in favour of 21-inch forged rims. With twin-spoke and Y-spoke stars, part-polished fronts and “dAHLer Edition” badging, the lightweight wheels are accompanied by 275/25Z rubber at the front and 305/25Z tyres at the back.

dAHLer confirms that all the changes meet the requirements of WLTP and Euro 6d standards and pass EU/CH homologations. The tuner has also clarified that it is already working on a stage two performance upgrade, making the BMW M2 even more powerful.
