Codeshare Between Air Serbia And China Southern Is Now Official

It results from a memorandum of understanding the duo signed a few months ago.

In September last year, Air Serbia and China Southern Airlines inked a memorandum of understanding to explore cooperation in various fields. The first development from that initiation is the establishment of a codeshare agreement. As with such partnerships, the idea is to improve connectivity between Serbia and China.

According to the paperwork, the Serbian flag carrier has added its code “JU” to China Southern Airlines’ nonstop service between Belgrade and Guangzhou. From there, passengers can fly further to 20 destinations the Chinese carrier serves. Among others, the list includes Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Singapore, Phuket, Bangkok, Seoul, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.

Similarly, China’s national carrier has placed its unique marketing code on Air Serbia’s direct Belgrade-Guangzhou and Belgrade-Shanghai services. Passengers travelling with the Chinese airline can connect to 21 European destinations served by the Serbian carrier. The list includes Berlin, Milan, Zurich and Bologna.

The two airlines will explore collaborating in additional sectors, including cargo operations and lounge access. Joint investments for commercial collaborations are not ruled out.
